1 John 1:9 (NASB): “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

“If” is a huge word. God forgives His people but that forgiveness is predicated on our confession. While God’s forgiveness is not at issue, our ability and willingness to confess is because there must be a companion intention and desire to change. When those two come together then we are not only forgiven, but cleansed as well.

“Thank You Lord, for saving my soul. Thank you Lord, for making me whole. Thank You Lord, for giving to me Thy great salvation so rich and free.” Amen.
